I need ideas

My parents' 40th wedding anniversary is coming up and I have NO idea what to get them. They're driving up to Michigan with my Grandma that weekend, so they can visit her sister and the rest of my mom's family. I was thinking about just giving them money for gas and whatever but that's not really thoughtful. I honestly can't think of anything they actually need and if I ask them what they want, I won't get any kind of useful response. I was thinking about gift cards for restaurants, maybe.

What the hell do you get people who've been married for 40 years?

Do you have their wedding photo? Maybe you could frame it cheaply - something plain and wooden - and then hand decorate it, expensively.

Last year was my parents' 40th. I took old photos from their wedding and of them through the years and made a photo book on Blurb.com.

For my parents' 30th anniversary my sister and I got a gift certificate to a bed and breakfast association. That way, they could use it anytime (I think as long as it was within a year) and they could choose from any of the association's members. I'm not positive, but I think we used bedandbreakfast.com.
